The Masala Bhangra Workout® is an Indian-inspired dance fitness program, designed for people of all ages and fitness levels. Masala means ‘spicy’ in Hindi, and Bhangra is a traditional folk dance from the northern state of Punjab, India.

Masala Bhangra is an ACE and AFAA-approved program, combining high-energy Bhangra and Bollywood dance movements in an easy-to-follow fitness format. In addition to providing a complete cardiovascular workout, it provides overall toning and body conditioning, and builds stamina, endurance and balance.

Developed more than 10 years ago by fitness icon Sarina Jain, the Masala Bhangra Workout® has received global acclaim as an inspiring and effective way to get fit and have fun. It’s been featured by media outlets all over the world, including The Today Show, Dr. Oz, Good Morning America, Self, Vogue, People and Forbes.

Suzanne is the first person in the state of Indiana certified to teach the Masala Bhangra Workout®. A dancer and lifelong fitness devotee, she has more than 18 years of professional dance training and is an AFAA-certified group fitness instructor, with additional experience teaching Zumba® and step aerobics.

Prior to teaching the Masala Bhangra Workout in Indianapolis, Suzanne was an award-winning television writer and producer. Her work took her across the United States and internationally to South America, Europe and the Middle East. She received two Emmy Awards and a National Public Service Award from the National Association of Television Program Executives. Suzanne also spent several years as a media relations consultant, advising national clients on communications strategies and media outreach.

Suzanne lives on the north side of Indianapolis with her husband Ed, her two young sons Jack and Ben, and her trusty Portuguese water dog, Dharma.

Sarina Jain, America’s first cross-cultural fitness star, is the creator of the Masala Bhangra Workout®. Sarina is an energetic fitness innovator, music-video choreographer and international television/radio personality. Although India’s glitzy Bollywood films have featured Bhangra and other folk dances and music, it took Sarina, a vivacious, young Indian-American fitness instructor, to devise the concept of choreographing Bhangra along with modern dance fitness moves to appeal to the American exercise industry. In the process, Jain has impacted the entire fitness industry, and has been heralded in the press internationally.  Sarina Jain lives and teaches in New York City, but travels regularly all over the world to train instructors in the Masala Bhangra Workout® technique.
